Location and Accommodations

iGeo participants will be staying at Université Laval's residences, which have a 3-star rating as a hotel/motel teaching institution. Descriptions and pictures of the rooms and common areas can be found here.

FUTURE PARTICIPANTS: please note that room reservations will be taken care of by the iGeo Organizing Committee once the completed registration forms have been submitted. Participants must not make room reservations on their own.

It is possible to stay extra nights before and after the event, at the following rates (in Canadian dollars, including taxes; breakfast is not included):

  • Standard room:
    • Simple occupancy: $43.44
    • Double occupancy: $55.93
  • Superior room: $112.46

Transportation will be provided between the Quebec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) and Laval University's residences only for the following dates:

  • July 30-31
  • August 6, from 15:00 on (after the iGeo Closing Ceremony).

Sporting facilities

Université Laval is home to the Pavillon de l'Éducation physique et des sports (PEPS), the largest sports centre in Eastern Canada. A general description of the PEPS can be found in English here.


In Canada and the rest of North America, electricity supply is 110 volts. Appliances from other countries outside North America will require minimally a plug adaptor for a type A / B outlet. Some appliances may require additionally a voltage transformer or converter.
